Is breakfast giving you a problem? In need of the best way to start your day? Here are ten choices for a healthy breakfast.
Start your day with a smile, that sort of breakfast you never give attention to or perhaps you think it is of no importance is enough to make your day a success.
Do you know that you can be doing exercise each and every day but you still feel heavy thou not overweight or if you want to lose weight, it seems not to work? Eating habits majorly affect our health.
What for breakfast? That’s the question we are going to answer today.
There is often a question that is never answered in your mind. What should I do to:-

  • Boost my body metabolism?
  • Gain muscle mass?
  • Gain strong bones?
  • Avoid high blood pressure?
  • Reduce my appetite?(For those who get hungry within a short period of time)
  • Have a lower body weight?
  • Satisfy your appetite?
  • Set stage for smart decisions all day long?
  • Get better hydration in the morning?

We can answer all this questions by ensuring a healthy breakfast is taken every day. Let’s hit the nail on the head. I know how it feels when you have no hint of what really a healthy breakfast is. Moreover something we can reach that is readily available.

  1. Have you ever tried taking eggs served with a fruit? If yes, no wonder you have a reduced appetite and a maintained body weight. If no, what are you waiting for, grab it. I see some quiz from a distance. What about us who don’t take eggs? In such a case, a high protein nutrient will do. Try meat, poultry, fish and beans and any other legumes if able to reach them. Also, full fat dairy products like milk, yoghurt and cheese are still the best.
  2. Do you know that coffee for breakfast is the best drink? If you want a low risk of diabetes and prostate cancer (for men), let’s try coffee as our morning drink.
  3. Tea also is best as it hydrates us and boosts our immunity. There are a variety of tea:- black tea, green tea and white tea. Green tea will help us boost our body metabolism and reduce the weight around the stomach area.
  4. To those of us who get hungry so quickly and find ourselves eating every time, Try whole wheat bread. We can take it by adding an egg so that you can get some protein. This will help us avoid taking sugar sweetened beverages like Soda that is always readily available hence we find ourselves taking more energy than what we actually need. These beverages have a fattening aspect for those who want to lose weight.
  5. Use peanut butter when using whole wheat bread as it brings about satiety. You can also use avocado with bread and add an egg. Give it a trial and I assure you gonna like it.
  6. Remember to take bananas too for breakfast. It is a good choice for those of us with hypertension because it has a healthy dose of potassium and naturally lowers the blood pressure. You can get one from me to start with. I come from the banana republic you know.
  7. Don’t ignore taking a watermelon in the morning as it is the best way to hydrate ourselves.
  8. Did you know that Grape-fruits have fat-burning properties and boosts immunity? Try them for breakfast.
  9. Pancakes are good choice for our health especially for men. Do you know why? They help keep us full for longer periods without needing us to consume many calories (unit of heat). It is generally accepted that if you want to lose weight you need to consume fewer calories to force Your body to make up this energy deficit by burning body fat( which is stored energy)
  10. We are encouraged to take orange juice. It is good for breakfast but take a glass a day because it has high sugar levels that are often discouraged since sugar has a fattening aspect.

We know that what works for one person may not work for the next. Some of us would prefer to go all in and change everything at the same time and others would probably prefer the longer, slower approach when making change. So let’s try since we never know what may work for us.
So, still at breakfast meal, what are we supposed to avoid?
Majorly, we are encouraged to avoid cereal foods such as maize, barley, rice, wheat, oats, millet and sorghum. They are high in added sugar and low in fibre and protein so we are often prone to hunger. Hence we will find ourselves eating every time. Moreover, Cereals have an abundance in sugar, salt and fat which we are often advised to avoid in excess.
Before we conclude for today, what should be our starting and simple exercise? Remember, exercise on its own is unable to lead to significant weight loss (for those of us who want to lose weight) though it adds both physical and mental health and also leads to disease prevention. You may not be losing weight but helps in losing some fat and gaining a bit muscle instead and is beneficial for mood. Let’s start with this simple exercise, walking. It’s such simple, let’s do it.
As we conclude, I want to encourage us to push through that which is making us ignore this simple things that actually make a lot of impact in our lives. Remember we need to live long. Walk with me in this journey and am sure we will reap its fruits. Remember habit puts will power on autopilot. Let’s make healthy nutrition a habit. Thanks for reading.
