WHAT DOES WI-FI MEAN?

Since it’s introduction in september 1998, Wi-Fi has gained popularity due to it’s capability of communicating with multiple computer devices over a specific area location.

Wi-Fi definition although has been incognito and clueless in the minds of many despite it’s widespread use. A research was done and it was found out that out of 50 users of Wi-Fi only 4 know the meaning of the certified network.

Wi-Fi is a technology for wireless local area networking with devices based on the IEEE 802.1b standards. It was a play on HIFI which meant High Fidelity.

Fidelity means something that you don’t know is there but it’s actually there, like trust or faith. Wireless Fidelity , a technology used to certify the interoperability of wireless computer network devices is what we call Wi-Fi.
