The editorial department of the University’s student union (M.U.S.O) is set to make their greatest achievement under the 31st Student’s Governing Council by launching the first ever University Magazine on the 19th day of October, 2018. This will be taking place during the University’s Media Week which is set to ensure that all media students and anyone passionate about media gets to interact one on one with the ‘who is who’ in the media industry.
The media week that is set to start on Tuesday, the 16th day of October, 2018 will have the students and staff interact with guest speakers like Mwalimu Rachel, Abby Agina, Hassan Juma among others. The media week will be geared towards the theme of “Packaging Oneself for the Current and Evolving Media Space” which will help students know exactly what the need to secure their safe spaces in the media industry. Among other topics to be discussed will be mobile journalism, the place of hard copy in the digital world and a panel discussion on Githeri Media and Unspoken Image preferences.
Students will also be allowed to showcase their works especially in matters of mobile journalism and content creation. The Media Week is set to run from 16th to 20th of October, 2018.
