“We gave warnings some months ago concerning this dress code but many people condemned us calling us all sorts of names and others shouting my dress my choice.”
Combats have, for the last few months become the most worn and most preferred dressing code by most youths within and without Nairobi city. Youths and the police are hardly identifiable these days with the introduction of combats.
However, Saigon Punisher, Hessy wa Kayole and some other police officers have sent a stern warning to anyone who will be found wearing combats at any given time. In a statement, Saigon Punisher said that things have turned for the worse with criminal gangs. He alleged that thugs have now opted to dressing in combats, which look like police uniforms, and use it to attack innocent Kenyans.
Some of the areas that have been put on the limelight concerning this insecurity issue include Dandora, Mwiki, Githurai 45, Mwihoko, Kinoo, 87, Nginduri, Sunton and Marurui.
In the same statement, Saigon blamed the mainstream media for its criticism towards the fight against crime.
All youths have been asked to avoid combats in order to avoid getting themselves into trouble with the police in their bid to curb crime.
